We beg to thank you for your letter of the 14th instant with reference to the case of Chu Kam don gin respect to No 2 Lan Westernnullrtiles.
We regret that His Excellency is unable to reconsider the case and as our client is dissatisfied with the action of the Government, he has requested us to ask His Excellency to forward to Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies the whole correspondence in connection with the matter.
Pending the decision of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, we have already informed you that owing to the assurance given to him by the Acting Registrar General, our client has arranged his business, so sudden a removal as the Government determined upon would entail heavy loss upon him.
